Liver detoxification: Detox for the metabolism
Tiredness is your constant companion? Nothing tastes good anymore? Your digestion makes you tired? That doesn't necessarily have to be the first sign of a cold. That's how a wake-up call of the liver feels. An overdose of fat, sugar, alcohol and nicotine can make the sensitive detoxification organ quite angry. In such cases it is better to take a break and do something good for your body by detoxifying your liver.
The liver - the detox organ
The liver is a multi-talent: it controls the metabolism, supplies the body with energy, regulates the cholesterol level and stimulates fat burning. Its main task, however, is detoxification. As a central metabolic organ, it converts harmful substances and thus prevents them from accumulating in the body. The liver reliably filters bacteria, hormones and damaged cells out of the bloodstream. It converts toxic ammonia into urea. It also has its fingers in the pie when it comes to breaking down alcohol: it breaks down 1 gram of alcohol per 10 kilograms of body weight per hour.
